I thought ...
Just to clarify something:
The game is good, I like to spend my 50 hours with it and I do not regret the purchase. However, it is annoying that Piranha Bytes has so much left intact, or have gone back to the roots as little as they have promised. This is partly good but mostly just plain annoying to watch.
This begins with the intro. I have always annoyed with the cutscenes that inserts Piranha Bytes in their games. They are usually poorly cut, unemotional and objective too short to something the player trigger. I remember only once to the "portal" that crosses Xardas along with the nameless hero in Gothic 3 at the end. Since looking tury me, even if the game is absolutely awesome today.
And this trend will continue in Risen 3 alas. The intro was far too rushed in my opinion, the outro is the whole but again the crown. I'm sorry, but I have rarely seen a unbefriedigenderes end in a video game: /
Then the statement Piranha Bytes that the game will feel again more medieval and less Caribbean.
That was me not really matter, because I was able both settings, but inwardly I am somehow looking forward to strip back by castles and dungeons.
We say so, there is, but only one time and that at the end. Otherwise, the game is exactly the same structure as Risen 2. One cruises on the seven seas from island to island, which is neither medieval nor "Back to basics" is. Only the teleporter vaguely reminiscent of the teleport stones from Risen 1 or divide the Gothic. This has actually blew me a little, because not only the setting, but also the islands themselves are similar to those sometimes frightening in the second part. Makes sense if the islands have the same name, but it had some just like the same porridge, only once warmed up. Otherwise, however, the rest of the islands are beautiful and therefore that bothered me the only Arnold Böcklin. I've probably just happy just too much at a Risen 1.2.
And finally: The level of difficulty.
Normally, I'm used to it by Piranha Bytes games that they penitrieren the player from the very beginning and as long as punishable by death until the reudige dog has learned of a player as he is struggling with the failed * bar. This is most at the beginning of the purest forced march, but in the end pleased about the performance that you have provided. Well, we say:
Another point that has been overlooked plan at the "back to basics". After just over 30 hours, I've asked the difficulty from Normal to Difficult, because I was the opponent too easy. Even the hardest I could cut down in rows after a few attempts, which was my idea of a Piranha Bytes game not exactly now. The trouble was that the opponents were still far too easy to difficult. To be honest I did not even feel a difference. Shortly before the end made me the otherwise often very liquid and fun battle system very bored, what to me before, never happened as in Gothic 3 or Risen 1.
That's actually one of my Hauptkrtikpunkte because me the game (and I am with God is not a good player, Dark Souls is still around in the corner gathering dust and beautiful in front of him) has called NULL.
So, that's the main criticism, but as I said, that does not mean that the game is bad.
Quest, graphics, characters, music, the islands themselves, the most varied classes and their storylines and the combat system is really very good and contribute greatly to the fact that I end up, well found the game despite the catastrophic outros and probably also will play again.
The whole is actually more of a 3,5 / 5 stars but you can not adjust yes;)
Finally, I can only say that Piranha Bytes has really created any new masterpiece and also no piece has gone back to the roots, but the game is solid and where the piranhas do with my 50 next time a "fancier" game that own promise holds, I like to have spent the money. I'll buy the next Piranha Bytes game is only the question of whether the every fan to Risen 3 still looks so;)
