Quality printing with a slight nerve factor

The old HP printer for A3 format, it had now finally behind him. A new printer for A3 for our office was needed. To Disskusion stood beside the Canon Pixma iX7000, the HP Business Inkjet 2800 and HP Officejet 7000 E809a.
Ultimately, and despite concerns about "only GDI" as "Printer Language", we opted for the Pixma. The trigger was here the waterproof ink and duplex printing on plain paper. Individual ink cartridges have now now (almost) all. Even the borderless printing (but only for photo paper possible) convinced.
The post brought a huge bulky and heavy package, which was hardly alone to handle.
8.30 clock start: unpack it - for myself just yet feasible. The part is monstrously large (approx width 65 cm, depth 60 cm with just a keyed Paper Receiving, height 25 cm). It is within reach on the extension of the desk. A USB cable was actually doing.
The instruction manual that you should go through the installation as far as possible, is stupidly 4 languages ​​(Eng, D, Frz, Ital.) On each side with each other, ie each step is explained in all languages. This is confusing or very confusing especially since it also separately provides information in addition to a sketch and the lyrics. But it can be done!
The printer was packaged well and at 9:00 clock I had used all the ink cartridges. Then began about 30 sec. a "Geschüttel and chatter" and the green LED flashing. Then pause and continue Geschüttel. The manual says that the 2-minute takes, was also about that. So just the 2 min waiting.
Shaking the ink (print head moves back and forth quickly) is actually necessary to the pigments of the water-resistant ink to spread well in the cartridge. This makes somehow deviant sounds, but not too bad.
I've actually read each step carefully before I do something wrong, so I was not soo quickly. At 9:17 clock finally the CD in the PC and click "Install" button. To 9.28 clock - the print head alignment starts - the printer told me now "clear ink empty" and the printer status Bildchen on the PC screen the tank of clear ink is displayed as "empty". Shock! Have I not just the new cartridge for "clear ink" used properly. But after a moment is "full" is displayed after all.
This clear ink is brought before printing on the plain paper, thereby immediately after printing somehow easily feels moist. Does not matter.
To 9.32 clock, he spits the first sheet of the test expression of empty, I want to grab it already, because he prefers to quickly reverse again and printed it. At 9.35 clock the 2nd test sheet is printed. To 9.39 clock, the device is ready. Shake, shake. At 9.40 clock, the printer is now truly ready.
The first test prints (text, photos, and borderless duplex) really inspire. Only for the photos (waterproof) has paid off. No smearing and endless dry more!

One shortcoming is that the device needs an eternity when you have turned it and then unleashing the first print job until the first page is completed. Stayed here for 1 min and 20 sec. stopped. The print itself is very fast but first he needs to just "rumschütteln". Other prints go then schneller.Über the day at the office then distributed from time to time unmotivated rumgeschüttel.

So, unfortunately, the part has given up the ghost after only a few pages, colorful LED green-orange-Geblinke and an error message B300. Meltdown! Off and on does not help. Research on the internet at Canon and anywhere else in the world does not bring any clear statement only the vague result would be what with the printhead well. Yes, who also did not move out of its park position and "shaking" no longer. For Canon Customer leave a message (no one was there). Called Amazon and from there an immediate replacement in the way. At this point, thank you love Amazon people, you really creates satisfied customers!
So the defective printer back nicely wrapped and delivered to postal. Printer came and now again all over again. Unfortunately, nowhere is how to install a replacement printer. The new easy connect namely not. So only about the extensive printer menu on the PC "repaired" and disposed of the suddenly available dual driver. (No, I have not installed 2x on the CD!)

The new printer will be our pleasure so far perfect. On the occasional sudden Geschüttel and chatter you get used to fast - it then sucks barely. Even the table (contrary to other statements on the Internet) does not shake it.
Who needs even faster printouts, is ill advised with this part. But as an all-round printers for our office life with text, tables and pictures in A3 it is highly recommended.
Borderless he does not print the way: plain paper and smaller than A4.
The plain paper will come down in a cassette with lid, from the top (open) is drawn in photo paper. Other formats plain paper can also manually can einlegen.Da from front to bottom A4 have the cassette and sometimes just A3 push fast forward.
Canon incidentally days later came the information that the print head is probably defective and you can not repair the self. Hope the new holding as long as our old HP (8 years!)

Printouts are super. We have never been better printed photos - really wonderful.

Important note: the ink (especially black for texts) are felt very quickly empty and then nothing works very quickly.
The "clear" ink is too fast for my liking empty. Problem is especially: The cartridges need not there on every street corner, in Berlin not even in the Metro (at least so far). So it's an Internet order necessary, but at least 1-2 days to take delivery. So please buy more cartridges in stock !!!!!!!
