I use four of these disks in Synology Disk Station DS411slim one in a RAID 5. The plates do inaudible their service in the small NAS. Despite the summery conditional 30 degrees room temperature, the operating temperature of the plates is at least 5 degrees below the permitted by Samsung 55 degrees Celsius even with large data transfers. The speed of the data is well-determined in this application from the network rather than from the plates. For use in a NAS drive is highly recommended.
