I purchased this external hard drive in November 2013 for a large document storage use. Very satisfied with my purchase early, silent, aesthetic and interesting transfer rate, the hard drive has passed away in December 2014. (thus HS disk is barely 1 year after purchase ....). Expert computer, noise nuisance caused a breakdown at startup synonymous disk read heads that lock. The product was taken into LaCie warranty (2 years) and repaid by Amazon (I emphasize the effectiveness of their services).
