The hard drive is quiet and is only slightly warm, but unfortunately it is also relatively slow - at least to a USB 2.0 port. The average data throughput was loud Windows at about 16-18 MB / s. Since my laptop does not have USB 3.0, the USB 3.0 performance can not be rated.

The hard drive was purchased for connection to a Samsung 40B650. But you seem to be on the TV too high. There are only about 750 MB detected by direct connection, although other 1TB hard drives can be used easily with only one large or several smaller partitions (even NTFS both as FAT32 when). When connected via a hub, the hard drive is not recognized.

Ultimately all no fault of the hard disk, when connected to a PC everything is OK. For operation on a PC / Laptop highly recommended.

Sent due to incompatibility to my TV but in spite of the very good price / performance ratio back to Amazon back.
