After several years of Civ 5 - also the last DLC Brave New World is now already a little longer on the market - was my anticipation of Beyond Earth, of course, huge. Although I knew that it would not be a Civilization VI, but the release version at full price but then bitterly disappointed me.
The game is good in itself, a true Civilization, with which you can also turn spend many exciting hours of play. But the flavor is always fade (at least for me). As a direct comparison I can and will use it solely Civilization 5, finally, it was the most recently published titles and is already a few years old. Against Civilization 5 However Beyond Earth loses any comparison. The graphics are much worse, the animated cutscenes relatively unloving, and the menus seem so simple (but not as stylish) designed that I have the impression of playing an alpha version of developers who should be made later.
Conclusion: For me, not even a decent mod for Civilization 5 as it would at least have to be designed graphically least equivalent. The theme of colonization of other planets is interesting, but it was already implemented much better with Alpha Centauri many years ago. Hopefully there will soon (or at all at some point) a dignified Civilization 6. Until then, Civ 5 remains with two addons just continue my first choice.
