At last I came to me to lead this album to heart. "Write Me Back" is a logical continuation to the previous album "Love Letter" is ... almost a throwback to the good old Motown sounds and a trip back to the 60s and 70s. If you do not really know that this album would have been released in 2012, you would assign it the above-mentioned period. Especially the up- and mid-tempo songs a la "Love Is", "Fool For You", "Lady Sunday", "Share My World" and sound fresh and new, despite, or precisely because of your typical Motown sounds. The absolute highlight is and remains for me but the opener "Love Is". All in all a good album whose good overall impression is somewhat diminished by the me not particularly congenial Slow Jams.
