What's Mos Def and Talib Kweli deliver on this record just about the limit! The 13 tracks are (finally a hip hop album without annoying Skits) all very good and varied. You can feel how much love has gone into this album. Especially Mos Def stands out from this album, as he constantly oscillates between singing and rapping a soul-even voice. Anyone looking for "Violence Lyrics" and rhymes about women and money (Cash Money says hello) is here at the wrong address. The lyrics are very socially critical and it is philosophized much about the lives of African-Americans in the US. DJ Hi-Tek brings the Soul and Jazz back to Hip Hop (Brown skin lady) and provides mainly "layed back" beats (KOS, Thieves in the night), and there are also 2 big party tracks on the album (definition, RE: Definition) , For those who want more: Common - Like Water for Chocolate, Mos Def - Black on Both Sides, Talib Kweli - Train of Thoughts
