Why others argue that the CD6005 for USB is disabled, I can not quite understand. For me it works quite perfectly with a 500 GB hard drive that has been formatted to FAT32, and also with all USB flash drives (16 GB, 32 GB), I have tasted. I have the MP3 files that I created by my favorite CDs (all min. 256kbps, usually 320kbps) (usually several albums) copied with all folders (artist) and sub-folders on the USB drive, plugged, the input on changed USB and play my MP3s. Change in great quality and I may adapt and play for example, only an artist or zap through all files in the playback mode Random (Random).
The fact that the 10-button keypad not work with USB was noticed while studying the manual before buying me. But that does not matter to me, because I always use the complete directory structure of the PC take over (Artist - Album - Title) and I actually get along quite well with the arrow keys. I also would not know which piece would be, for example, the track 200.
I could see only two mistakes:
1. When mobile I can when I play my MP3s in Random mode, and skip back a track, and listen again. The works of USB not. Jump to the next title: yes, but not a title back if already started the next song.
2. The CD player by USB on the files by creation date. At the 1st storing MP3s on my USB hard drive, the artists were nicely sorted alphabetically. After adding several new artists they were ranked below. That is, if I might add numerous new acquisitions to USB again, I delete all the files and then copy back all new to the hard drive, so I have my alphabetical order of artists. (Lt. Manual: arbitrary arrangement on USB - was me thus known in advance.)
I did and found that my device plays WAV, WMA but not a few experiments with different file formats! However, I must confess that I can not detect any significant difference between MP3 320 kbit / s and WAV and therefore does not come to me 4 times the memory requirements of the WAV file in question. In a world of poor and loud shots because I can probably count ourselves lucky anyway;)
By the way the USB drive does not start to play again at track 1 if has come in the meantime another USB flash drive for use. If the player is not disconnected from the mains (I have a distributor with switch), he even remembers that I usually "Random" have turned.
