When young talent suddenly back in the focus of interest, which leads very quickly to a polarization and surging minds. Jan Lisiecki is no exception, with just 17 years, he is considered by many as a century artists' primarily by the music industry. Nevertheless, it is worthwhile to approach this recording of piano concertos 20 & 21 of Mozart with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra under the aegis of Christian Zacharias unreservedly. What then revealed, is a successful picture with a pianist whose strengths lie in sovereign serenity and proverbial subtlety. It is a pleasure to enjoy this recording, the wonderfully silky, almost creamy sounds. Lightness and finesse, combined with the accurate and vivid play let time slip past in a flash. Certainly there are pianists who put more maturity to the day that underpin the work of Mozart with a decisive touch more depth; but always lurks the danger of a very own interpretation and characterization. It is the merit Lisieckis that he does not succumb to this temptation exactly. For this he would surely too young and those inclinations based on willfulness or überschätztem self judgmental often embarrassing. No work of the century, but we give the artists but time and chance; total nevertheless hauntingly beautiful music in pristine sound structure that invites you to linger enjoyably relaxing on warm summer evenings.
