About 3 years ago I have assembled my my last computer. The machine was designed at that time with about 3000 for complex games and accordingly power hungry and noisy. Despite that I have a short time completely stopped later by playing video games, I have long clung to the old computer. The reason is that I am completely switched to Kubuntu Linux, Windows, I do not want to have on my computer. I have a little afraid to buy a new, low-power laptop because I was not sure how far the function drivers for new hardware under Linux. Now I have given myself together and ordered me this computer. I have the version with 12GB RAM, Core i7 and 256GB SSD. For a touch screen, I have can not decide. The Windows 8.1 that was installed was of me once started only 1 and tested for 5 minutes so that I could detect any defects. Since none were seen, I have uninstalled Windows and Kubuntu 15:04 what had just come out from scratch, installed. The installation process was good, even the USB LAN adapter has excellent giving good service during installation. With the new system, the computer saw then also much better, KDE5 is simply very pretty, by contrast, Windows 8.1 in design can hide that usability can not be compared, Windows 8.1 is just a spasm. In fact, I had a few problems with my fresh OS. The main problem was the touchpad, which although rudimentary completed his service, but was not to persuade them to multitouch. After many hours of literature research I myself can find a solution for this problem: I've made an update to the 4.0er mainline kernel, then I could make the system settings required configurations under "Eingabegeräte-> Touch". With the "old" 3.16er kernel the touchpad it was recognized only as "PS / 2 Logitech Wheel Mouse", although the built module NOT Logitech comes. The second problem that I have and still could not resolve is waking from sleep. While this works very well, the re-flaps but it takes a little while (~ 10 seconds) until the system is usable again. That's too long for a Toplaptop, I think. Otherwise, I am very satisfied with the device, the battery life I was able to confirm that speed is top. I've run a trial basis a few 3D applications and could certify the device as a good graphics performance. I'll keep the device, a star's deduction for the Linux compatibility of the touchpad and the slow awakening from sleep.
