Annie Lennox's Christmas CD is what the title says: A cornucopia. A cornucopia of shades and unusual arrangements that allow an African choir, no inhibitions to mix with medieval sounds. And you know what? It is good, and even poignant and heart-shattering. Whoever takes the trouble, einzuhören and especially no smoothes and - in the usual sense - pleasing Weihnachtsalbum expected, which is rewarded with this CD. Because it is just beautiful. Annie Lennox sings like people in church singing: Without flattering embellishments, but with fervor, joy and faith. So something strong and at the same time once well known, I have not heard in a while. Among my favorites on this album: "Angels from the Realms of Glory," "Il est né le divin enfant" and "Universal Child". Since there is really addictive and guaranteed to goose bumps. And actually this is also true for "In the Bleak Midwinter" and "The Holly and the Ivy". Merry Christmas in any case!
