The album is just really good! Fat (but not over) produced, hard, uncompromising and varied (yes, not a typo!). Robb Flynn and his machine heads is so often accused of only being able to use the same old Dampfhammer good but B & D can do more. Strings in the Now We, (atmospheric) choirs at Sail Into The Black and In Comes The Flood, pace of game over and (almost) offbeat Night Of Long Knives. However, my favorite is Ghost Will Haunt My Bones. The only weak track is my view Beneath The Silt. As others have written, I am also of the opinion that such clothes the Deftones simply better.
Dave McClain again raging like a madman on drums, nothing new, but always impressive. The precision is truly breathtaking. The interplay of Robb Flynn and Phil Demmel is beyond doubt and Robb's vocals have really grown, if you are still considering Burn My Eyes- and The More Things Change Times. Melodic screaming improving ways no one can! But especially want to mention my opinion, the performance of the new bassist Jared MacEachern, which some perhaps even of his old band Sanctity (as he was, inter alia, singer, Road To Bloodshed incidentally also a very strong album) know. The bass bangs, as it must be with MH, and the backup vocals are (also live) really well. On stage, he sees the way out as the young James Hetfield ...
All in all a something of absolute buy recommendation horny for this disc! Live come the songs also megagut, especially Now We The. I was able to convince himself of me already. So who has the opportunity to experience an MH-concert should not hesitate long. Perhaps the best live band in terms of heavy music (Iron Maiden except that play in their own league ...)!
Buy, buy, buy !!!
