The punch pad does exactly what it should. The shock absorption is excellent. The processing is designed with value and longevity. Beginners might interfere at some hard surface, but that's just one advantage of the claw, as it was indeed designed especially for muffling hard kick and knee techniques. I train regularly with the claw and am completely satisfied.
