I bought this book out of curiosity. The story is nice, no surprise. Readable and attaches to our two heroes, Sebastian Vane and Abigail Weston. Sebastian is a young man wounded, bruised by war, lonely and who is accused of being a thief and killing his father. His meeting with Abigail will change his life. Out of love for her, Sebastian will try to rank, becoming an honorable man, to be worthy in the eyes of the father of Abigail. She is the eldest daughter of a merchant who made his fortune suddenly. This is a beautiful young girl reasonable, curious, loved his family, has a soft heart and blushed easily. It will help Sebastian to resume the will to live and to discover the truth about his father. The story is well done and I confess that the character of Penelope, the younger sister brings a little spice. She intantinet cheeky, sassy, insightful but will be the best ally and confidante Abigail on which will rely on this adventure. I had a very good read. As I enjoyed this book, I will hasten to read Volume 1, which, according to various opinion is as good or better.
