Too unknown, like a lot of other Pésarais. A delight from start to finish for an opera rather unusual - a poor isolated soprano from 6 tenors, no less, a little skinny aria for "baritone". But the dramatic magic (yes, it does exist!) Tedeschino transforms the whole story in a succession of solo, duo, trio, quartetto, equally addictive and moving as each other; where the most human feelings - jealousy, love, violence, honor or revenge Truthful will mingle with the magic, spells, the fabulous. For the version that say otherwise like so many others before me that Flemming is ... how to say? a revelation, an ecstatic beginning, not an acute painful (and I'm hard with the sopranos), severe worthy of the best altos. The tenors are not all equal, but nothing comes harming listening. Kaasch and Kunde are very good (strange not find Palacio in such registration, there would really fit). I know that this version (it seems, in light of other, quite full, fuller anyway), and thus no direction for comparison. The Gatti brings out the climate and relatively heavy weight of the drama that is played, that's what I felt throughout the tempo that emerges from this great work. To those - those who already know (and love!) Ermione, Tancredi and Semiramide, to add to the essential Kolek! A course deplore the absence booklet. For a good plan Italo-French libretto, I'm interested (not found) I gave it 4 stars is for the absence of the said book. (?)
