When I heard the opening track "Broke Down On The Brazos", I thought, struck by lightning. This is probably (certainly merit Gibbons) one of the best rock songs I've ever heard. Something like driving, groovy, cool upper one finds rare nowadays. As the best of Southern Roock and blues rock is composed popped. The problem that I have with many of today's rock band, is that often the voice is shit and the music has no soul. Then you listen to old slices of LS, the Allman Bros and Johnny Winter and asks in astonishment, where is all this energy go? Why it creates hardly any more, convey such a feeling? Warren Haynes has definitely a rock voice, as they must be - rough, full of energy and life experience. The new album from Gov't Mule brings the hot rock back without sounding dusty and self-referential. Legs standing (because of the thick egg) Rock! Thoroughly recommended!
