Russian Apocalypse + grandiose atmosphere + ingenious graphics = Shooter Hit 2013 !!!

The manufacturer has released yesterday on PlayStation Store called "Season Pass, which is releasing after & after in the coming weeks, new game elements.

A new, not previously included in the game bonus weapon is available immediately after purchase of the "Season Pass".

- The "Faction Pack" and "Chronicles Pack" will be a new single-player gameplay and contain the universe and the story of Metro: Last Light expand.

- The "Tower Pack" provides Metro veterans a unique solo challenge.

- The "Developer Pack" provides creative players some interesting tools with which they can explore the world of Metro.

The Season Pass will cost 14.99 (for Plus customers: 11,27). The contents are tested by me after even after & and of course entered into with my review. The "Faction-Pack" should appear as early as June.

Lots of light and shadow in the latest game of "4A-Games") ... where you have to say that this is true more for the game world ... playful and qualitatively outweigh clearly the "light" moments;)

After the game was postponed after the bankruptcy of THQ to eingie weeks back, I had my fears so that the game would not be as good as it has suggested the trailer.

But to take it right off the front, my fears were not confirmed. But on the contrary. Rather, it is the best ever first-person shooters of the year for me. For me personally, even better than BioShock Infinite. Bioshock for me was a terrific game, but could not build the sensational atmosphere as its two predecessors MMN. This is probably also due to the graphic style, which is certainly not to everyone's taste. In addition, there were promises made and indeed promoted with trailers that mirroring what is not implemented in the final game. But enough to BioShock, this is about "Metro: Last Light").

The great strength of the game is simply fantastic for my taste graphics paired with a cinematic atmosphere. It will be formally, with the pre-roll, drawn from the first minute in the spell. World looks very lively and particularly at the intermediate stations, where you can virtually participate in the "normal" life of the rest of the population, give a good "center of all the" feeling.

The music and sound effects also fits excellently in the entire game. The German speakers are also all known legal and have various video game characters lent your voice. Only annoying is possibly the permanent patch Russian accent of a stop off to remember that one is located in Russia. That would not necessarily have to be MMN, because if play game in America or anywhere else not even speak the figures so with American accent or the like .... well, fortunately not playing the game in the Netherlands).

The controls are typical for the genre with most processes. Nevertheless, the control is a little crowded packed than most other shooters. Mostly you could also subtly overloaded say which one but rarely in situations pushes the wrong buttons. While holding down the L2 button, there are, for example, there is a whopping 8 ways to make a selection (eg lamp, lighter, medipack, gas mask, gas mask filters, etc.). Somewhat confusing is the weapon selection menu (if you call it with triangle). But with a bit of getting used successfully throughout the course better and more intuitive.

In the weapons, there are also all sorts of options. From guns with Nachtsichtausfatz, on double-barreled shotguns to pistols with silencers bishin the whole spectrum contained weapons. In the intermediate stations there are always dealers where you can buy, trade or sell weapons can. Are considered currency for the entire game no rubles, but rifle cartridges which can be found in more or less well-hidden crates again.

To come back again to take up arms .... so great the selection is also, basically makes it mostly only makes sense to use the weapon with a silencer - for the most part the gun crosshair essay! Because just in the areas where it goes against human opponents, it means to be as unnoticed as possible. One must constantly off or imposition lights and strategically way through the levels. Kill or stun enemies unnoticed is therefore mandatory. Degrees in the demanding levels of difficulty (heavy corresponds to the mode "Hardcore", the next increase is the mode "Ranger", the option is available, plus 1 silver & brings 1 gold trophy with him) introduces discovered almost inevitably Bildschirmtod. And the benefits of weapons without silencer draws everyone's attention to an unavoidable. Therefore, the thick Boomstick come almost exclusively in the various mutants opponents used.

Grade the fact that one acts out of the shadows and quietly as possible ensures an enormous tension. Players will certainly not get at the Metro guy to face just shoot straight on. The tension really rises in some areas to the maximum, because it then can happen at times from the one & in dimly lit rooms or tunnels on the road is. Those like me who plays with headphones, the threatening situation is not only visually, but also akkoustisch perceive. Really big (scary) cinema.

A pity, however, unfortunately, is the fact that players read the previously neither the novels or the predecessor (only X-Box & PC) have played, some story details are not understood. Unfortunately, I also belong to this group. Schön would have been if there had been in the options the possibility of a short film to be considered the predecessor, or to port the predecessor to the PlayStation (whether as a disc or download version). Possibly this happens still, or to read the book "Metro 2033" by Dmitry Glukhovsky. The latter I will probably tend, as history has me really intrigued to Metro.

A few glitches the game (yet) that should be patched umbedingt. So it happens now and then to strange animations that you know the enemy, diverse sound skips and now and then it can sogneannten "Freezes", so the freeze coming of game action. The places where one waits for various means of transportation nervous on higher difficulty levels somewhat because these really becoming "natural" extremely long need a variety of reasons ... and by chance come naturally if and hordes of mutants).

Apart from this, these are but a terrific shooter with a lot of stealth elements, which is graphically beautifully packaged and builds a dense atmosphere. The Apocalyptic Russia seeming simplicity tremendously atmospheric.

I like it better than the world of Columbia in "BioShock Infinite" or inconsequential story of "Dishonored". The latest first-person shooter that were similar to me have liked "Rage" or the old parts of BioShock.

Oh one more, in many quarters you get to hear the playing time is just under 7 hours. This is nonsense! Anyone even vaguely noticed all the great details and characters in the game world and does not run through the levels like Usain Bolt in 100m final will certainly require minimum 12-14h. I recommend also still the difficulty on "Hardcore", so hard to make. Because here you really have to act as possible undetected and to think twice about which way you rolls through a level .... and when you shoot, then every shot count as accurate as possible, especially when the armored opponents a must. And who at one point or another time allows to enjoy Details, gets as a reward even the odd trophy donated which "Rusher" who want to complain about that is too short the game, do not get with security to face! Very nice, I think it's also that you can estimated 95% of the fights against people the opportunity has to stun them and not to kill. This also has impact on the end, and some to Collaring trophy.

Those who are not averse to the topic, a captivating shooter with playful claim investigated can not get around this great game. For me it is no less than the best ever shooter in 2013 and more than a tip. I hope that the game will be a commercial success and one can expect a further part in the Metro universe on the PS4. The game is a hit for me I would not have expected & who is not quite sure the game should be loaned only once before it can be completely left. For me there is therefore, despite small blemish 5 Stars. Whether it is better or worse than BioShock Infinite is a matter of taste .... but really there are no two the Meinungne include both games in the collection each genre lover.
