This book certainly deserves more than the two poor stars awarded by Ollivier. Jean Ziegler is no longer in his first attempt in the works denouncing the evils of our western lifestyle. Although one might fear some repetitions, the book reads like a novel, but a novel that reminds us that we are privileged on borrowed time. And as we continue to fertilize our considerable debt to the majority of the inhabitants of this planet, which must be paid at one time or another by our descendants. And it is not there a monetary debt like the IMF perpetuates in the so-called developing countries, but a blood debt ... A note of hope, however: The superb chapter on Bolivia and analysis of the election of Evo Morales in power. And with the advent of the first president of color in the US, we want to believe in the path of reconciliation ... But the obscurantist forces lurk.
