What I do not like subjective, is the operation and display.
Operation: Via sensor keys. Not very intuitive, not least because of the inevitable multiple assignments.
I reach almost exclusively to the remote control that is not ground-breaking, but for me a better service enables (for example by means of numeric keys). On the menu I have nothing else to complain about.
Display: As with most DAB radios; pixelated, almost anachronistic tickertape to artist and title. For the price I would then want with dedicated buttons and improved user interface in this concept a touch screen.
Nevertheless, one can operate in a comparatively short time to acquire.
Nevertheless: A rich scroll wheel, dedicated preset buttons etc. I do not consider antiquated, but the better and proven operating concept.
On the plus side there is a device that - once fully configured - all providing what one could wish for. The time setting is made for example by means of synchronization with the Internet - this gets surprisingly not every manufacturer in its Internet-connected devices back.
The app is not really helpful, possibly the search for Internet broadcasters is thus facilitated. However, it is apparently not occupy any memory it or at all to configure the device. Then a handle to the remote control or the operation of the device is due. This is not to be included in the assessment, especially since it will surely give updates.
The operating concept in addition to the design consistently black held a technical-cool impression. Not my taste, but ok for the kitchen. Beautiful is the small footprint and consistent front operation. The product image gives the impression of the instrument amends. The unit works with high quality and well finished - a pity that as described sensor keys and display dim this unnecessary.
The sound is bass heavy, so not for purists. Not even the complete lowering of the bass and raising the height does not change. A dedicated equalizer might have been nice there. One can ensure the other hand to 30sqm on bigger rooms well with the device. At lower to medium volume of the sound in the kitchen with the described limitations is perfectly fine. Interesting perhaps the digital audio output.
Well done to the Sangean-Support: A ticket was answered within 2 hours. Since this was a hardware defect upon delivery at the problem, the unit will be replaced by the dealer (not Amazon).
