Isolate and Medicate (Deluxe Edition) (Audio CD)

Customer Review

With "isolates and Medicate" Seether have already released their 6th studio album (if you count Disclaimer and Disclaimer II independently) and a total of the second album that the famous producer Brendan O 'Brien was (including Pearl Jam and AC / DC) produced , The album has a very varied sound and is even better than I expected.

I am writing this review after the third hearing, and I have to say I like the music getting better. I am sure that I will often hear it. Seether are with the album back a little back to their roots, which can be best recognized by the hard guitar sounds. (With "Suffer It All", Seether has probably delivered one of its hitherto heaviest riffs of their careers.) My biggest praise still belongs to the work of drummer John Humphrey, who has delivered his best work with the album.

The album kicks off with a "typical" Seether song: "See you at the bottom" is the song where Shaun same time brings in his first screams on the album.
Next goes a little more pop with "Same Damn Life", a great ear candy with a very catchy chorus - one of my favorites on the album.
The third song is "Words As Weapons", the first single from isolates and Medicate, and in my opinion one of their best songs, with usual genial text and very catchy melody.
Something new Seether have tried with "Crash", a song that sounds very interesting to me, because it does not auweist the usual pattern with verse, chorus and bridge.
As for the rest of the album, I'm really pleased, even though there seemed nothing particularly surprising or experimental. (With "My Disaster", a rather harder song Seether show their bluesier side, while "Watch Me Drown" and "Keep The Dogs At Bay" more reminiscent of the older Seether.)
But my Anspieltipps would "Nobody Praying For Me", an excellent rockers and "Save Today", a beautiful ballad with very sad lyrics.

Among the bonus tracks:
The first two bonus tracks "Turn Around" and "Burn The World" are not really anything special, but sound not bad, if a little boring. Because I like it, however, "Goodbye Tonight" very, a song was added to Seether along with another South African band called Van Coke Kartel. The song has just earworm potential! "Weak" Although already came out on the best of music, for those who have not bought this, the song is a successful conclusion.
