Here 's amazing photos of stunning realism and very fair and extraordinarily fresh colors, thanks to the method developed by Sergei Prokhoudine Gorskyi. This precursor photographer (as Albert Kahn) obtained for this reason an order of Tsar Nicolas II, who asked him to perform in the early twentieth century a story on the different provinces of the Russian Empire. Russian peasants of the north, Cossacks, Tatars, Kyrgyz and other Chuvash, starting a Bouzkachi or market Samarkand, sandy shores of the Volga boatmen with their (as in the picture of Ilya Repin), one is in a dream but n is not a recreation of Hollywood, it was really like that! The editor of this little book has wisely chosen a paper and a hardcover nice quality feel, and we regale pictures, just pictures with very little text, just the necessary. This is a great success that makes you want to listen again or Scheherazade "in the steppes of Central Asia", or reread the Pushkin travel.
