Service - for Casio probably unheard of, right?

We bought the Casio Exilim ZS100 for our daughter. After about 8 months with quite reticent to use the camera's battery could no longer load. We have the camera that looks as good as new as before, then returned to Casio and asked for repair or replacement under warranty. After a few days we got an estimate of the amount of 79, -Euro incl VAT for a camera, the 104, -.. Has cost Euro with the comment "improper handling, ..., deformation, bent, dented, broken, scratches . " This judgment is completely puzzling to us. Even when I inquired by phone, I was confirmed by a Casio employee, the Casio refused to repair this damage under warranty, although the warranty period is 2 years for the camera. The only conclusion we could draw is for us: CASIO products - no thanks!
