I have the Netgear Powerline Utility (found on the Netgear website) still set its own, longer key. The supplied software I have installed, but they had respect. Key used not as intuitive and therefore I have the Netgear software. The Fritz software did not work right away (would have to be).
The decor was so done easily and quickly. But what about the speed of the connection? At first I was a little skeptical because I put the two adapter approximately 1.5 meters apart in two wall sockets and a theoretical data rate of 228 Mbit / s, it was reported to me. Since the outlet in the bedroom about 10 meters distance and probably a lot more to cable length (I honestly do not know how the cables are routed exactly in our apartment) is removed, I thought the data throughput would certainly fall significantly.
In the bedroom, then the next shock: I had somehow for years not busy - there was simply no reason - but the only electrical outlet in the bedroom is behind a monster of bedroom closet, impossible to move. So I had better or worse, the second adapter directly into a misplaced extension cord (no plug-in bar, a 1: 1 extension for power cables) are stuck with at least 5 meters in length. My expectations were quite modest. Zürck on PC then wonder: the data rate still stood at theoretical 211 Mbit / s. Since I have only a 100 Mbit / s network, the bottleneck is thus the network, not the adapter.
I have not run any benchmarks, but the connected in the bedroom Raspberry Pi with Raspbmc I could with my Blu-Ray Rips wireless previously not to run to bring (bit rate peaks at 25 Mbits / s in my tests) and the Powerline adapter was there are no more problems. 1080p streaming from the Internet (admitted rather what to do with my provider) and 1080p streaming from a PC shared folder (18 GB large MKV) passed with flying colors. Now the WLAN of the Fritz box 7270 is also rather modest and the Raspi not exactly a throughput machine, but I'm absolutely thrilled that I finally have no more problems with the network in the bedroom.
The adapters make a quality impression, it rattles nothing and everything looks well made from. Since I now have the adapter only for an hour in action, I can not say more, except that I'll probably still get me a third adapter, for the place where I connect the Raspi on my conditioning and the projector.
