when a vorrezensent writes, this album was disappointing because no song had the right to find space on a best-of-sampler, so this is two things to say.
First, that's not true, because "Burn Down The Mission" belongs on any serious Elton John coupling. Secondly, just the songs that do not make it to the "best of" albums, experience has shown the best of Elton John. This album is full of them - in fact falls not a single track, all keep the tension.
a great curiosity is "love song". Leslie Duncan wrote the song, she sings it together with Elton and tugs to the guitar. That sounds great, totally different, real laurel Canyon West Coast folk rock.
as a bonus, there is the long original version of "Madman Across the Water" with Mick Ronson on guitar - great.
the remastered sound is warm and unobtrusive.
What an album!
