Originally I had only fixed focal length lenses for the OM-D. The tests on Photozone aroused only limited interest in zoom lenses. After then Panasonic were tested 14-42 and 45-150 and not necessarily "outstanding", but very solid and especially over the entire focal length range as the legal sections whose results are good, I have tried both and eventually bought.
The 14-42 will probably not used much, you should be aware of the limitations of the bezel compared to the fixed focal lengths. But ... there are just a lot of situations in the holiday season, where such a lens is already useful.
The quality of my copy is consistently good, a sun visor is, and it took all the 200 on offer. Combined with the 45-150, I have a 2-piece Super Zoom for 450, which provides the entire range of 14-150mm consistently good image quality, yet remain light and small.
For stability, I can not say anything that takes me the camera.
For the price a strong buy recommendation.
