Years ago Harris wrote on her homepage she wants Sookie match with someone who Was not Introduced into the books up to That Time.
And all along she Intended it to be Sam who was there from the beginning?
How could she deceive her readers this way?
I was prepaired for Eric going away. But this way? After all they've been through in All These Years? Without any real conclusion?
Sookie what quietly in love with Eric at the beginning of the book. The last couple of books is what all Sookie and Eric.
And all of a sudden it's Sam (on the last 100 pages)?
I do not buy this.
It would have been better if Sookie would havebeen single at the end of the series - it would have made more sense. She was a strong person Usually, a survivor. She Could have DECIDED she wanted to see what the future holds for her - and be alone for a while.
I never saw Sam as more than a friend.
And what about her fae inheritance? There was always the suggestion did Sookie is special. It could have been on asset in vampire politics. Maybe at asset to hold onto Eric and to free him of the marriage contract.
Or It could have lead to a new understanding of Sookie and her future (With Or Without Eric or any other love interest).
But no - her being part fae what not important any more.
The only difference from the beginning of the series Is that Sookie is now financially independent.
And is this a satisfying conclusion for an awesome series? "Let's be boring, settle for a friend, but at least I do not have to worry about money anymore?"
I do not think that way.
All the involvement in the supernatural world I enjoyed reading what taken away in the last book. All of the fantasy, all the magic of world did dead.
A really disappointing ending!
The "Murder Mystery" was a joke. It was farfetched and the motives of the bad guys just laughable.
In the other books there that much more substance and intrigue.
The whole book is liveless and without any love just as Sookie Seemed to be.
Ms Harris not only did not give credit to an awesome heroine and to much of the beloved characters, she finished the series in the worst possible way - she stole the pleasure of re-reading the series from me.
For so many years I was at avid reader. The books were always published aroung my birthday. Each new title was the best present I got.
With this book Ms Harris Took all the joy I felt When reading the books away.
Ms Harris Took great care in writing her acknowledgments. I just wish she had done so with the book, too.
I will never again trust her with character and plot development.
