An insane, ever-present rhythm section sets the pace, the brass section skillfully their accents, the guitar grooves funky to himself, the keyboard has a life of its own and the soulful vocal performers give the whole thing more heart and depth. The good spirit of the Bahama Soul Club is producer Oliver Belz, who was responsible even for the JuJu Orchestra. His debut album "Rhythm Is What Makes Jazz Jazz" was an absolute blast. Now he followed with "Bossanova Just Smells Funky" his clear musical line on and, believe it or not, this is still round, yet crisp.
