Here are some positive and negative aspects.
PRO:
- The physics is very neat. She falls somewhere between arcade and simulation. I find this extent succeeded. The cars break out, understeer like and zicken also when braking.
- With Steering Wheel (Thrustmaster t300rs) the game drives also very good. The force-feedback effects are not bad. Could it extensively play at Gamescom and it was fun. In the two cockpit views a very good atmosphere in the middle comes on.
-The Challenges during the race such as suggest a time curve speed duels or drift points motivate a tremendously, thus motivating a pretty good feature.
Realistic environment sounds with tape checks, collisions or driving on different surfaces.
-The Graphics are very good. Detaillreiche distances, super-detailed cars (inside and outside), very nice lighting effects. The lighting at any time of the day or at night is very good hit and contributes greatly to the atmosphere. For me one of the best looking, if not the best aussehendste racing game that I have ever seen.
The frame rate is constant at all times, no matter what happens on the track.
The people who claim, the graphics would be PS3-level should take the tomatoes out of the eyes. Even a colleague of mine, the Project Cars was gambles on Ultra on his PC amazed.
-Tolles Sense of speed. Specifically, the Hyper Cars like the Venom GT Henessy go off mercilessly.
-Beautiful, Very detailed tracks that exude a lot of charm. From high-speed lines to circuit racing. Everything is there. Am very satisfied as far.
-The Race against the AI to be fun. They're fast and arcade typically very action packed. While the opponents go quite ugly to the point, in my opinion, but never unfair. In general, the difficulty is rather high. Especially in PRO LEGEND or it's a stormy affair. The opponents mercilessly punish every mistake and go quite quickly. So it may sometimes happen that you have to deny a race 8 times until you reach the podium. This drives a sweat on the forehead and one sits tense and highly concentrated on gamepad. If you have time, however, won the oft-repeated race, one is very happy and has this rewarding feeling when you have done enough work. Almost like Dark Souls. Who online racing is usual and gives not the same at the slightest challenge, should have no problem here. It is certainly not a racing game for beginners because it is neither a rewind function is here, still a driving line. Also the rubber band effect holds is very limited and in my opinion is not as strong as many other racers.
Negatives:
Although -The fleet include a lot of nice cars, but the selection is very limited. There are about 52 cars of which 21 are from Germany alone and the rest Italians and one or the other Briton. No Japanese, Americans, old-timers, Young-timers, etc.
-To Few modes. There are only only Race, Time Trial and Drift available. Not enough for today
-Schwache, Too muffled motor sounds. Unfortunately, there are few vehicles that really sound massive and granular. The rest is for me personally not aggressive enough sounding.
-Überlastete Servers that make any kind of online features, let alone online racing impossible. Not a good start for a game that had so strongly promoted with the social features.
-The Weather effects will come later with an update. Too Bad. Yet I am very top.
Conclusion:
Drive Club is a good Arcader-Racer with a quite good driving physics. The graphics are great, the races are fun and the game a lot of fun. That is the decisive point, why I give the game 4 stars for me. The criticized by many KI I find good, very fast, persistent, but never unfair. The Serverübelastungen, the unilateral fleet that have a few game modes only comprehensible drawn the ire of gamers and hopefully all the problems will soon be resolved, so you can use the "Club Feature" and "online races" hopefully great strength of the game ,
Anyway, I'm glad I do not have me by the negative reviews can influence and have brought me the game. I do not regret it so far and am looking forward to the online experience with my club.
Otherwise, I wish you all much fun of the game and hope you soon finds himself in an online race.
I change the evaluation as soon as the server is online and I have gathered enough experience online.
EDIT:
Now I'm online already arrived at Club Level 15 and could generally deny up to 70-80 race. Currently (11.02.2014), the online mode is running relatively stable. The loading of the other players or the race now runs faster, the race break in the lobby not so often because of server errors from. Gambling itself is always very smoothly and without lag, unless you have a crappy connection.
Many functions such as create challenges still does not work. And you can hardly more than 3 races in the same lobby go without the server make this tight due to errors.
For online mode per se. This is little creative. You have normal racing, team racing and club racing. You can create no own lobbies. You drive what offer a server so. Such as the quick-play function in GT6. Somehow the whole has little charm. In the long run the game, even if it has overcome its problems, can really motivate anyone. Not enough is offered here for a really good and motivating online experience. It's somewhere totally usual and comes a not so over, as if the online mode, the heart of the game such as in COD or Battlefield.
At the general experience. Most players go very inconsiderate, unfair and extremely unclean. It barely manages a curve to take clean because someone reinfährt from behind ALWAYS full force in one. You can tell that a lot of children here and inexperienced people are traveling. Some did not even get out the simplest curve. It's not so bad, only if one is himself hampered by their inability, it's really annoying.
Only rarely arise real time duels with fair and good drivers. Most, if you start one of the first and is not hindered by the wild mob.
Even in team race can be its own members do not overtake one, jostle one intentionally on. Fun it hardly. Because if you will be shot down by other people, you also get even curve fines or penalties collision, although one can not help it.
Nevertheless, I have so far managed to complete most races on the podium.
CONCLUSION: The online mode is more commonly referred to as something special, and people who are accustomed to fair and clean driving from other games should certainly steer clear of the game. You need a lot of frustration resistance here.
Hope could help you with the decision.
