"SO" by Peter Gabriel is one of the best albums of all time - because it contains some of the strongest songs of the 80's - and by that I mean not even the singles "Sledgehammer" (without the 80 but not completely are) and the underrated "Big time", but above all the rather inconspicuous pearls like "Red Rain", "Mercy Street" and the dreamy, atmospheric incredibly dense "We do what we're told" (which was once the ingenious Miami Vice episode "And Forgive us our debts "adequately under painted). When Peter Gabriel asks how the 80s sounded, he could simply say, "SO."
