Something marbled "Ultimate Best Of"

I am writing this review as someone for whom Michelle is a childhood idol and is looking forward to experience it in their tour from the front row soon. I also find it in principle fully justified, despite numerous unofficial compilations even bring out a label overarching Best Of - only implementation I do not quite succeeded.

Let us begin once the selection. It's a mystery to me, what you have is based. All Singles certainly was to accommodate 2 CDs no longer possible, but even songs that made it into the charts ("Silver Moon and Star Fire", "head Into the Night," "Maybe once in a lifetime") is missing here. Even that Michelle has mitgeredet when selecting personally, is unlikely - personal favorite songs as written by Pe Werner "Himmelweit" absent here also. Ever is of the albums since 2005 (with the exception of "glass"), only one song included.
Unpleasant incident on the juxtaposition of the titles. Michelle's sound depends but very by their producers from which she moved often in her career. As nice as her self-written title "I am sending an angel now" also is - between the modern disco beats of "Paris" and "Big Love" but he seems a little stale. Worse, it is still with the titles from their first two albums from the early nineties. So great the songs considered in isolation are also ("First Lives", "The Sleeping Beauty has woken up") - the productions simply sound out of date that falls before songs like "The best moment" particularly on.
Better chronological order would definitely have been a kind of "time travel" by Michelle's career. Herbert Grönemeyer also has solved this problem on his Best Of album well: a CD with older, with a newer songs. Likewise, Michelle would "Rouge" can very well make a cut in front of her album.

7 new songs, this Best Of album. And again, I'm not entirely convinced. "Paris" would have probably rejected laughing AnNa R. Rosenstolz - her former bandmate Peter Plate gave his composition now Michelle, who, after all, makes the best of it. A nice touch their record company to publish the title as the first Michelle-single CD for 9 years - that it reaches the charts, I can not imagine. There is no hit. Most of the other new titles, co-written by Nino de Angelo, sound more like filler - not necessarily failed, but not outstanding. Only "pulse" of previously unknown team of authors Manuela cleaner and Patrizio Finito convinced with strong melody gelungenem text and modern beats.
Outwardly displeases me the cover slightly - at first glance it looks then again as an unofficial compilation and in the booklet you will find much more interesting photos. For the booklet missing text as well as information on the authors and dates of the older songs. That should not be! The Megamix can take a small extra charge - it is not my case, but at least you get the album then in digipack.

Overall, this album shows how dependent Michelle is by their authors and producers. Her voice is unique, but unfortunately - this is my thesis - she's too lazy to rise from a pop singer to a real artist. With "I'll send an angel now" she has even written one of her best songs on the album "Life" it was also often involved in the songwriting and most recently she wrote in 2010 the text to "Star Child". A talk show appearance I particularly remember - there they sang "Wake kissed", accompanied by a string quartet, as the moderator tried to emphasize, but Michelle wanted as quickly as possible to the stage. Their performance was perfect, but not only because of her singing, but also because of the beautiful composition, the beautiful piano playing and mainly because of the string quartet. Solange Michelle keeps her singing for the most important thing, it's probably a matter of luck, if they again make it to the top.
I would be happy about a self-written album with a producer who can co-decide even with the arrangements Michelle. Until then, this Best Of serves as a neat summary of their previous discography.
