Standing peeing on the Master grave

Customer Review

The general joy of radio play fans I would like to not belittle.
But the interested reader Lovecraft I just have to whisper a few words of warning.

No, I'm not at all think that any adaptation of a book must be meticulously geared to that. Book, film, radio play - all have their own art forms with completely specific peculiarities, which to meet is far more important than the blunt transmitting each word and every scene.

However, what was made here from Lovecraft's original, it reminds me very much of the film adaptations of the 50s - only without the nostalgic touch.
Lovecraft's fascination to this day alive, linked not only his fantastically gruesome cosmology or its pseudo-authentic occultisms. It is also to use his special way, protagonists and characters.

Thank sedate readers who like to cuddle up in bed for weeks at a novel to doze dissolved after delicious shudder in strange fates, this aspect of Lovecraft's literature do not like.
They consider it a blemish, that with him two-dimensional figures are hurled without a long life story, and without complex psychological portrait in a story in which they stumble blind and powerless against their fate.
There are people who have been rightly peeled to their essence - and they act entirely in the service of history.

There are no quaint and endearing little person, to whose welfare you fear sympathizing!

This is precisely what they are, however, in this radio play adaptation.
In the best tradition of philistine Hollywood era, take the template and scrubs first as long it around until all the edges sanded and all tips are round filed.
Then first bold women are draufgepackt.
Not just any - but argumentative and know-it cartoons of emancipated Power Bitch showing the ossified scientists first, where the rubber meets the road.
Whether is pissing while standing ...?
Schenkelklopfer for Pennäler and housewives of both sexes!
Screwball sayings for SEX AND THE CITY generation!

It would be basically nothing wrong, and as I said at the beginning - the avid radio play listeners I do not want their fun, too take.

But why you have once more the crowd-pulling name Lovecraft from the fresh public domain tug coffin to even the pubertal and ausgelutschte Hörspielabenteuerei to stick him on the shroud?

Sure, it's the concept of the series to take classic horror substances and pre-cook the inexperienced consumers. Many horror stories that have been written before the 20th century, which does not fall even so much weight, which brings me to the idea that the bourgeois of the 19th century are quite close to today's consumer citizens - at least their desire for easy goutierbarer Entertainment concerns.

If you now but begins to churn and modern and groundbreaking materials by the same old blender, then you do so something very bad.

The world, the culture ... and also of me so expensive portion of Horrors ... are huge, complex and live and prosper by varying and unusual.
It is not necessary, and everything to screw everybody on the same level, only to the supposed expectations of a mass audience did not disappoint.

Here a wolf is made to the Toy Poodle.
Meanwhile, at least everyone should be aware!
