Stay away! Prefer the original!

This French translation of the remarkable book by Margolis published by O'Reilly in English, Arduino Cookbook, is detestable. One wonders how an author could accept to see his work butchered at this point. The original is 724 pages in French pale copy, 402.
Wiley and Christian Tavernier, author Dunod basic works on Arduino, in the introduction pretext of having done a skilful choice motivated by the fact that there are already a large number of works in French on the basics of Arduino. Remove the base parts (chapters 1-3 in original) was so motivated, but probably really motivated to see the pigeons buy more books (recommended in the introductory text) Tavernier published by Dunod.

Moreover, random totally unjustified truncation (sections refer to the English version)

- C. 7.10, 7.11, 7.12 on the use of 7-segment displays. very interesting for experienced users, not at all in the "basic work" such as Wiley says.
- 8.14 hp Driving Unipolar Stepper Motor (ULN2003) yet a very useful chapter because the ULN2003 component is cheap and universal.
- 13.4: Adding an External EEPROM Memory. Yet it is the only place I saw this delicate issue be treated with a bit of detail.

- 14 hp in full, to throw. Truncation here was very brutal, and the 4 sections on XBee (14.2, 14.3 14.4, 14.5) reduced to only 14.4 and 14.5 without any form of trial. Yet this chapter is very useful in the English edition, because the use of Xbees is delicate; but here we truncate brutally whole part about setting Xbees.
the resulting text is incomprehensible.

- Ch; 15 on web server options, even truncated with an ax, making incomprehensible chapter.

It will be understood, this book is a rare example of the lower limits which are believed never to reach. I have not read the book in full, to avoid indigestion
As the food is unhealthy. But in sections as I could go, it seems that the publisher did not even bother to see if the severed parts still had a sense, there is no one more line that a translation of the letter preserved parts.

You understand, this book has no interest, except to show how an unscrupulous publisher can transform the best book on the Arduino into an infamous porridge.
Therefore regret all the more that the translation was not provided by O'Reilly.

For exactly the same price, so we prefer without hesitation the English version, which is it, excellent, and form a complete set, from initiation to advanced aspects, avoiding the hassle of multiple books Wiley . Note also that the 3 rd edition of this bestseller (in English) is planned for the summer.
