Stay on the carpet .....

Well folks! This album is neither evoked by many masterpiece, yet it is so abysmal as some have described here. Depeche Mode locate themselves with "SOTU" somewhere at that time self-created between their 80s Retro Sounds (Construction Time Again) and moderately modern Electro Knispel recent era. This is a really worth listening to sound experience as a result. Even Dave makes a really good to very good vocal perfomance.

But this can not hide the fact that there are on the album also plenty of Langweiler.
Let's make it short.
On the plus side: In Chains, Wrong, Peace, Come back (although there are of this song a "stripped down" version that much better I like it), Jezebel and maybe Little Soul.
The rest is not a total failure, but certainly tasty certainly far from genius. Even in large negotiated "context of the album," these songs do not swing on to more important.
Conclusion: No one wants a second "Violator", etc .. But the three boys have made better albums and will bring you even sooner or later out of the cupboard.

Oh, in my opinion, the "Exciter" is here treated entirely under value. But just so on the edge.
Conclusion: 4 points is it, for old times!
