Have purchased this product and of course not have the expectation that he could transport Gigabit via USB; only that well over 100 Mbps should be possible. This was also the case. Unfortunately, I have found that the continuous operation at the desk (detached, but connected to the laptop) results in too high heat dissipation of the adapter, which eventually leads to failure of the Ethernet connection (allow to cool => goes back). Did I buy the adapter instead of USpeed (who has since unfortunately disappeared from Amazon) and no complaints, this (white) Adapter is also much more compact. If this USB-gigabit NIC therefore not recommend of Level One - but perhaps there is now indeed a new revision, which no longer has this apparently heat-related problem.
