Successful continuation of a tradition

With the now presented here in 1100 HS, the tradition is to be successfully continued.

The technical and optical condition for this are again well:

A very robust, stable housing that already exudes alone a certain value. The corners are slightly rounded as in the IXUS series. The camera appears compared to the competition very difficult, and I had no balance at hand.
But I like it very good. Light works fast cheap here.

The display is 3.2 inch diameter very large and dissolves with 460 '. Pixels okayig from. For the called unit price can be 921 'pixels. Well.

What I do not like: Here again cheap plastic covers for battery and memory card, which are held separately.

The Kama has a total of 5 operating. I was very skeptical about whether it is possible to operate the camera really only via the display. Here have in the past, even with Canon, had a bad experience.

The answer: Yes, it is. And surprisingly very good.

What disturbs only at the display operation: the fact that the virtual trigger for the video mode next to the thumb rest (right-handed) is, I accidentally often shot a video. Could have been better solve. Otherwise, the operation is very easy by hand. The screen is very responsive, the menus are Canon-like intuitive.

The zoom range is 28-320 with truly enormous, 24-300 would have pleased me better (yes, always something to complain about).

The zoom is very fast and accurate, the image quality prima in bright light.

Videos in Full HD are good or very good also in good light.

The various, known Canon scene modes are fun, but do not offer big surprises. Oh yes: the HS in the name stands for high-speed and so there is a mode for fast continuous shooting and a slow-motion video mode. Great

For me, the Ixus 1100 HS is a real surprise in terms of operation and speed. The picture quality is the usual high level.

Anyone looking for a very well-made compact camera for intuitive operation and touch screen, should look at the HS necessarily accurate.
