Customer Review

As a die-hard fan, I naturally RUSH feverish each new sign of life of my favorites contrary impatient. For guidance said that I so from "2112" to "signal" prefer especially the phase 1976-1982, and here my favorite album "Hemispheres" is also to be found.

I am amazed every time anew, how cruel it sounds the first run of a new RUSH album. That's why I also great understanding for everyone who does not find access to this music absolutely. For some unknown artist, it would in any case be no further run more. But I know, thank God better and so then the fog begins from the fourth / fifth passage so gradually clear. The individual songs have stripped their skin and the beginning rather monotonous and uniform overall impression dissolves into thin air. Many details, expressions and intonations emerge. Everything is at once entirely clearly recognizable and act as a feather. Each song draws attention to itself on his very special way: The snappy "Far Cry", the cumbersome rolled "Armor and Sword", the flaky "The Larger Bowl", the gloomy "Spindrift", the chirping "Main Monkey Business" , the smooth "Faithless", the loose "We Hold On", etc.

The album makes me now so much fun that I again may appoint a full Rush album with all songs by heart after the first time immemorial. That's saying something with me! The perceived time of the CD, I guess to about 45 minutes. At about 62 minutes real time can thus certainly speak of an entertaining album. There's really not a weak spot, finding no filler. At most times a piece that is perhaps not absolutely great, such as "The Way the Wind Blows". But the next time you listen to like this better and another less, as "Working 'Them Angels". Funny, somehow the songs seem to move with each other ...

The work now already definitively classify high in Rush history is difficult. This requires still some long-term experience. At the moment I can, however, safely say that the best Rush album for a long long time!

Updated on 04.09.2015:
Unfortunately I have to depreciate significantly from me quite acclaimed work in its long-term effect of this initially. Since only average remaining after the initial euphoria verflogenen but left. It's just this viscous, sticky overall character I had initially was not perceived, but the now quite formidable bothers me. Another gripe is the many absolutely superfluous miserable "Ouhuuhuuus" in song by Geddy Lee. He has never done before, and thank God for "Clockwork Angels" also no longer afterwards. So, the highlights of this album for me to stay still exist (Far Cry, Hope, Faithless, Main Monkey Business, Malignant Narcissism), but the rest is at best still mediocre. Unfortunately.
The follow-up album "Clockwork Angels" on the other hand I can (also in its long-term effect!) Thoroughly recommended. Is much more rock and snappy, not so cumbersome.
