8 years it was quiet around the old masters of rock'n'roll, but with "Ride Out" he answers quite impressive comeback. Hardly anyone manages as Bob Seger Blues and County so skillfully to combine influences each other and thus to be successful over such a long period. Of course it was a little quieter around him in recent years and he could no longer continue the great successes of the 80 also (outside the US). Albums like "Against the wind" or "The Distance" remain unmatched and also "Ride Out" can not hold a candle to this nearly classics. But The result is nonetheless a solid Bob Seger album without big surprises but no major weaknesses. The songs move largely in midtempo range and are characterized by the above mentioned interaction of various influences. For this reason, "Ride Out" became a very entertaining and varied album for me. Only the vocal quality of the now almost 70-year-old Bob Seger have suffered a little, these acts but not as powerful as in recent days - maybe that's the reason for the female backing choirs often intervene to provide support. Otherwise, there is nothing to complain about but on this album. My highlights are the powerful "Detroit Made", "The Devil's right hand" and "lists". Most liked me but rather slower and ballad songs like "Gates of Eden" and "Let the Rivers Run". All in all, "Ride Out" a very good album in which all the "old" Bob Seger fans get their money. Whether it is sufficient, however, to win new fans I highly doubt - but does that need? ;-)
