Next candidate was a monophonic Bassynth. Again: "Where is the FX ??" Multiple switched on / off-until I realized that sounds the sound without FX somehow sterile, but with a subtle richness and heat gets to be intrusive without. Tear to the "Rate" knob right on it is however more a brute vibrato.
Then a Rhodes sound: Ahh! Here is clearly heard the chorus. But here too: more discreet and soft.
Conclusion: What the "Small Clone" supplies can not be compared with what is known of digital FX chorus. Unlike his counterparts digital, all sound somehow hard, synthetic and very striking, he is rather soft and subtle. The sound you want to edit is not disfigured, but rather enriched.
