As a student I had the Fineliners but he was able to convince the last few weeks in continuous use, not me. On each paper you could clearly see the outlines of what is written on the back, in addition, the pen the same thickness (possibly even thicker) than my former Faber-Castell Finepen (8mm). Otherwise he feels good in the hand and does not smear ('m left-handed).
So if you never write on the back of his paper and never squared paper is used well served, otherwise rather looking for an alternative.
