Indeed, this novel takes us back to the dark looks like our own questions about life and its stages which sometimes go by faster than we realize. Without fire in the nostalgic romanticism, he manages to captivate us and bring us into an atmosphere that is typical of Parisian nights such as may be described in the novels. (Although on the other hand, this Parisian side pushed probably annoy some.)
However, I was disappointed in the end with a twist which I did not quite understand the utility, a small false note that has not prevented the book to awaken in me reflections already there but static, dormant.
