Survival Horror for historians

Over Blood is an action-adventure game for the PlayStation in 1997. At the time, I ignored, I gave the game today attention since I got it for very little money. If one includes the development time, there is a nearly 15-year-old software titles.

And you can clearly see: It needs some overcoming to adopt the completely outdated 3D graphics of the game. Instead of fingers have the pawns polygon lumps; they are talking about, but this show no facial expression. So the modern world saw the video games 1997; and we loved it, wanted more. Nevertheless, in the comparison that already at that time higher quality graphics found on the PlayStation application.

Over Blood has average survival horror. The game uses a large extent on the subject of time one year old Resident Evil: The protagonist wakes up in a research station from hibernation, has lost his memory. It soon becomes clear that he is afflicted with a life-threatening virus that ultimately has the mutation into a zombie result. The task now is to heal and to escape from the research station.

And that fight the mutated undead employees of the station. But these are rare and easy to fight. Over Blood lives through a dense atmosphere, walk around and solving simple puzzles are the main tasks. The a firearm, the game offers, spends most good in inventory. Part minute-long, pre-rendered cinematics take even the most powerful game opponents, but also contribute greatly to the action.

The background music is harmonious, the German speech well. Biggest weakness is a messed up control that appears responsible for the constant snagging the pawns on objects and walls.

For followers of the genre Over Blood is still worth a look. I was entertained, but only just under three hours; then closing time and the game hero was freed. This is now too short and was already 1997.
