Survival 2nd match of ex-Dry & Heavy bassist "Heavy" is with his new band The Heavy Manners (not to be confused with the English ska band Heavy Manners). Ok, that was now four times heavy in one sentence. Now for the album. You can expect a classic roots reggae-dub, have the Sly and Robbie and King Tubby not done better. Perfect produces crystal clear sound directly rescued from the 70s into the modern era. Not quite as dubby and playful as formerly Dry & Heavy, more straighter and no-frills, yet powerful and catchy. In particular, the songs with indie rapper "Rumi" are the highlights of the album. The first time you hear Rumi's voice sounds a bit strange, the mix of spoken word and Chanting is used to. But soon begins a draw their hypnotic recitation in the spell. "Hakuchizu -Alone-" is certainly the highlight in this regard. But Rumi does not remain the only guest star, also Miss "Cool" Samiah Farah allowed to try on a song and breathes dub a little business here. Nice song, but not as strong as that of Rumi. The remainder then consists of instrumentals and vocal dub versions of songs. All in all an album for dub reggae friends and those who want to be there. Fans of King Tubby, Revolutionaries, Scientist and co. can safely access. And to the Japanese singing you get used to at some point. ;)
