Ultimately, I have a line drawn because I really is photography still at heart, but I still wanted to make no compromises in family trips, bike tours, trips, and other excursions. In short, I have my Canon completely sold equipment and the proceeds (and others) bought the E-PL5 incl. Two fixed focal lengths. For MFT I opted for the high quality lens selection and thus targeted against Sony NEX (despite the slightly larger sensor).
Now despite initial abdominal pain respect to the sensor size I experience a renaissance of my hobbies. The quality that I achieved with the fixed focal length (45 Olympus / Panasonic 1.8 and 20 / 1.7) is simply fantastic ... because unexpectedly good and definitely on a par with my DSLR (with fixed focal lengths!).
As Canon Umsteiger I noticed the change not difficult ... within 2 days I could move safely through the menu and knew where I have something to find. Meanwhile, the 2 Fn keys with a HDR-row and an exposure memory are occupied. Because I feel the handling ago but the same as zuhaus.
What else can I say ... to the technical qualities of the camera you probably need not say much. There are countless tests to prove their qualities. I especially like the low ISO noise, the fast and accurate AF, the excellent shooting speed (8 frames per second), the high dynamic range and of course the very good image quality. Actually, there is nothing for me to complain ... except maybe the feel. But ok, that's what happens with small cameras. This "lack" is for me but in the flood of positive characteristics completely under. Nevertheless, one has also here some ways to bring about an improvement ... like to try the larger handle MCG-2 or the handle unscrew completely equal ... depending on your hand size can be found here certainly a useful combination.
Now along with the very flat Panasonic 20 / 1.7 I take the camera along on every bicycle and walking tour. Place it finds in a padded carrying bag from my remaining stock and takes up very little space in your backpack a ... at just about 400 grams. Absolutely fantastic ... this would have been possible with my old DSLR never!
In retrospect, I have to say that I really regret not having dared earlier this step. The parting was long overdue. But that's what happens with a separation ... the insight usually comes very late ...;)
