So I re-arranged the G15.
Since I was used one of the first G15, (the later have been supplied with material other than palm rest and for margins) I had (much less absorbent, but less susceptible to impressions) used to the new edition of myself first.
The blue glow was my opinion also something beautiful. Above all, the small (not retractable display) and the lack of bike for me big deficiencies compared to its predecessor!
The display and the media player control were the best Feautures the G15.
The keyboard has now become a lot more compact. You should be now better transport. The display remains unprotected during transport.
For transfer passengers there is here again a familiarization phase. Although the extent consistent with the old version, missing the 18 macro keys as right orientation. So it prefers to attack once a button next to it. Of course, accustomed to do it quickly.
The key press has remained largely the same.
It should be noted, the Logitech here a real King keyboard has screwed down to a normal level. The materials are completely identical to the later sold version of the old G15. Again, no progress.
Setbacks are the lack of sound-wheel and the kleineneren Media Player / Winamp keys, which were arranged around a smaller display also, which is now even worse to read through the new color scheme, as the higher contrast and great predecessor model.
All in all I am quite satisfied with the keyboard. However, I see no advantage over the old version, only disadvantages.
Even the Windows key-lock function has been completely revised and is still just as useless and poorly implemented as before. Pressing the switch requires either strong pressure from above, as you slip off otherwise, or you have to press against the sides now tips. Before, one had to rounded sides press (also not great), but it went from above.
Conclusion:
Good keyboard, great features remain intact. Illumination color is a matter of taste.
But it's definitely a step backwards, from the old to the "refresh" Edition.
If you want to do without the display, and wants to save money, you should resort to the G11.
As an alternative to G15 can also use the Razer Tarantula, which conveys a quite more popular writing experience, with less deep keys.
