Just - shortly after the first synchronization (via a cable) with my Windows 7 laptop via iTunes me all sorting logic existing albums was shot to pieces in the iPad2 when resynchronization of a new photo album. One should as an iPad buyers know before, that Apple is not able to manage a photo album folders more than one sub-folder level. Poor performance, sorry. This means that a folder hierarchy of three levels, for example,> vacation photo holiday 2006Tag 1Day 2Day 3Urlaub 2006Tag 1Day 2Day 3
The first time I could manage me after many attempts, restart, and what I know is that I have synchronized the iPad2 with a completely empty folder (therefore all the pictures have been eliminated on the iPad) and have then re-synchronized to the correct folder in portions (portions so far that I have this folder piecemeal filled with photo albums, and had then dubbed over again, so that the poor iPad not responsible syncing). That worked once. Now - at the second Zerhau - is not even that.
I thought maybe I am doing wrong thing, but according to Internet I am probably not the only one this annoying.
Addendum: Now have all subfolders brought to the first hierarchical level: ie> Holidays 2006 days 1Urlaub 2006 days 2Urlaub 2006 days 3
Now it gives me permanently. Can do much wrong as not, because you always can not do much, it does not matter whether I define the Windows Total folder to synchronize photos with iTunes, anhake "all folders" or each folder individually ( "Selected folders"). There are at least 15,000 photos, but that's why I finally bought 64 GB! I am about to dispose of the iPad!
Update 2: I've now spent about 8 hours with this amateurish Apple blunder and learn about a hardcore Apple specialists in my further acquaintance, that the problem was known, with the last upgrade should have been solved. But it is not! For me any understanding is missing!
After all did not help and after tens of dubbings to no avail, I had only the (pre-) last resort. Previously, Apple software had if you had selected an empty folder in iTunes when synchronizing folders for iPad2 or simply removed the hook from the frame sync, asking if it should delete the existing photos. This question now is no longer well. Synchronization with an empty folder or removing the hook (can anything else Apple to "delete" not yes, mundane tasks, such as deleting, trash or the like, there is in iTunes not) away now now so not a single picture more, the formerly orange bar at the bottom in the usage screen with the message "Photos" is only yellow and is now called "Other". If you open the iPad the photo icon, no more photos references and the wrong folder structure in the background still there are reportedly available, but in reality they are only no longer accessible, but, with all the (erroneous) (namely now halt "Others"). Say the resynchronization with the right, filled with photos Windows folder represents the old chaotic jumble crap with vile regularity restore!
I have now completely set up as a way out before the penultimate scrap collection iPad to factory settings and re - a Sysiphusarbeit. Conclusion: As before, there is only one image folder level without sub-level, about 85% of the photos are at least in the correct folder, and in the right order, but still not nearly all. And, although I have paid attention to the advice of the Apple specialists in the folder structure on the source folder to the shortest possible names and minimize vacancies, no umlauts, and perhaps hyphens, for example> tag 1-Jeep Tour Ibiza holiday 2006
So I'm sorry, but such Apple blunder can not be tolerated! Not for the price! Design is not all! Pretty but stupid hollow not satisfied in the long run! Anyone who has more than a few GB of photos: Hands off the iPad!
