Taupin's Comeback

Taupin's Comeback

The Fox (Audio CD)

Customer Review

"The Fox" is Elton John's first album after his reunion with lyricist Bernie Taupin, from whom he had separated a few years earlier. So comes almost half of the texts by Taupin, the other scarce half Elton John has composed to texts by other authors, a rest ("Nobody Wins") is not from him.
This makes the album particularly versatile and an exciting study of how the copywriter Elton affect compositions.
If we follow the blurb and assume that "Elton's Song" is a remnant of the last album, I suggest as a suspected order: 8,1,2,4,6,3,5,7,9. Programmed on the CD can be the development of the time without Taupin pursue best to reunite.
The earlier songs are certainly demanding, sometimes melancholy, with Taupins texts comes the old facility (others would say "irrelevance") back to the music, even though the texts are not necessarily easier ("Fascist Faces").
I like the songs to Taupin texts better, but that's a matter of taste. Either way different tastes come into their own. For fans and pop-scientists equally desirable. As an introduction for album Elton John listener perhaps more nothing. Since prefer the "Very Best Of" buy.
