Graphics:
Engine is the Unreal 3 engine, the great strength on the one hand the Excellently character models as well as "internal areas" such as the Normandy or Citadel. So awesome the graphics are there on the planet that you visit later, they get bored then unfortunately but very fast. The landscapes are drab and dreary, what comes across authentically on planets with no atmosphere, is completely incomprehensible on Earth-like planets. It grows no grass, no trees or anything else, there are just plain landscapes with mountains and hills with very good resolution textures. Here Bioware should invest time in the following parts definitely.
Sound & Music:
In a word: WOW. I have the US import version and therefore English speech (so unfortunately can not comment on the German version). The soundscape is true, the music matches the technical and futuristic ambience. The English voice actors are just awesome, they contribute to a large extent to the atmosphere of the game in and to the feeling that a living, breathing world is in Mass Effect. The people you will be with whom you appreciate working together in the game. Each character is and reacts to situations differently than the rest of the members of the group. Very few games have ever managed to give me such a feeling.
Control & usability:
Unfortunately, you realize the game is still on the console implementation. It has been much improved and done correctly but, unfortunately, still some things remain the simple nervous. For example, the inventory summarizes just 150 objects, considering all that this includes - weapons, armor, upgrades - then you will come very early to the limits of the inventory. Then you can sell the stuff either (often feel bad because you have to empty the inventory in the middle of a mission) or to convert it to gel around with you eg open crates. Unfortunately, even the maximum Gelvorrate is limited to 999, and this is achieved very quickly. Also very annoying is the sales window, here you have no way to filter for objects but has only an eternally long list where you have to pick out the items that you want to sell.
Control else is learned easily and quickly, like in a shooter controls to its character with the WASD keys and use the mouse to look around. One can for his abilities prove hotkeys or use this simple break from the menu in the fight. The Pause menu opens while holding the space bar, although it is often only short but it is annoying that you have to have and hold. Furthermore, the management of the Group in the fight is a bit unfortunate, you have to target the location where you want to place a person and only then enter the command in the battle menu beforehand.
An interesting idea is the choice option in the dialog boxes. A small wheel allows for diplomatic / neutral / ballsy answers. If you like to listen to, you can put on the left detailed questions on specific topics. You notice here that Bioware has invested a lot of time to create a believable world.
Atmosphere:
The great strength of the game. The characters are awesome, the main story is captivating to the end - it is feverish with properly. Unfortunately weakens the atmo in the side missions, as these usually without much history just show up like this. Only the emissions which are the group members to spend interesting. Here it would be great if Bioware could incorporate storylines in the side quests in the coming parts.
Motivation:
The main story is awesome and ties, the side quests to do at some point just to get more items and level up. That's the biggest gripe for me.
The fights are hard, because the AI group members but weakens greatly. Only too happy to make in the midst of the fire of the enemy till they drop or not to adjust their armament to the situation.
Speaking of arming: there are effectively only 5 different weapons (pistol, shotgun, assault rifle, sniper rifle, grenade) that only get better over time easily and have more seats for upgrades. Depending on your class has its own special skills, eg manipulating robots that manipulate gravity etc.
Conclusion:
RPG fans, the long dialogues are not averse to access safely. The combat system is indeed exciting but often a bit annoying. The main story captivates until the end, the atmosphere is captivating and intoxicating. The voice acting and music set her on the crown.
The graphics on the planet could be less gloomy, the interface needs need some fine-tuning and the side quests more content / sense.
Shortly to copy: Bioware is making no complaint that EA still has not understood that a copy meets only the paying customers and just sees this board as potential criminals. After all, Bioware was able to prevent the 10-day activation, unfortunately you can the game still only three install what I really find pretty intense. Although my regurgitates also pissed I bought the game because I want to support Bioware. This company stands for quality and innovative products that are fun and stand out from the pabulum. Because I want that to continue so, I slammed.
Thank you for reading! ;)
