For those galley with Freeplug, do not forget to install the NETGEAR Genie utility for easily understand what is happening on the electric network through the scheme you will show the utility.
Then you have to associate the Freeplug and CPL (I close them with two electrical outlets close to each other to easily associate). First, with Freeplug, hold the button for about 2 seconds if I remember to see it flash. Keep the emergency button on the side of the PLC for about 2 seconds to see the LEDs flashed too. Normally they should both be associated.
Once this is done, with your computer, tune in to the wifi network NETGEAR (it should have a name like "NEXTGEAR_EXT" or something like that). The first time, it will ask you for a password that is physically located on a label wifi CPL.
Then, open the genie NEXTGEAR utility, go to the diagram of the electrical network. The scheme must you show your computer connected to wifi PLC connected to it a question mark (the Freeplug I presume) that connected to the Freebox, which is connected to the internet. Right-click on the drawing CPL wifi and click [...] ...
It only remains to configure the wireless network "wireless settings". For my part, I put the same network name as the Freebox to have only network at home. But I advise you to first make a network apart to properly configure the PLC by setting a different name than the network of your Freebox (Eg. Freebox network name = RESFREE, CPL wifi network name = RESFREE2). Be careful when you insert a WAP or WEP key for your CPL wifi, make sure what type of key used freebox. Use the same type of key and the same key for the Freebox and CPL. It was there that I understood why my CPL did not work because the CPL used a WPA2 key while freebox used a WAP key. Although both had the same key, the two are incompatible. It only remained for me to change the key type of CPL WAP + WAP2 which must contain both types of keys simultaneously. And surfing begins.
I say all this because I have long sought. Maybe I'm wrong about how the CPL and Freeplug but if it can help many, I leave you my comments anyway.
