To release disaster and the servers I can save the majority - it was / is a bottomless impudence but it has anyway no consequences for EA, could not care less how much one gets upset.
Today in any case the game to work properly: you can login, create, invite, save, etc.
Positive:
- Nice to see
- Fully featured
- Runs very smoothly
- Large-scale projects are a good idea
- Online Mode
- Transport runs later in the game better than SC4
- Realistic planning through winding roads
- Research is possible, but unfortunately a little too flat for my taste
- A grid will help in road construction
- Beautiful regions with different resources and opportunities
- Revaluation of buildings is a good idea
Negatives:
- Fully featured superfluous better: a little less postcard, more simulation!
- Regions before flit: Although there are up to 16 cities and 4 major projects in the largest
Regions, unfortunately, only four (!!!) together and at the same time A (!!!) major project
at all linked - means with the other 12 towns / players is not interactive,
although you built the same region!
- May not be the regions, but the cities till you are far too small. Through very limited building site only remains
every effort to be the areas to drive in the highest density and hoped that it will fit somehow.
Unfortunately, so are imposing cities impossible, but everything remains on "postcard level".
- The advertised Glassbox engine is an extremely simple method, which magically attracts bugs (driving in circles cars,
Firefighters, ambulances and police always take all the same way and then stand behind the first vehicle, then
again to go into the base, as the respective first vehicle is sufficient - in fires can burn as an entire city just because the
NPC vehicles simply never arrive; Roads are not used to capacity but by the direct route A to B etc ..)
- Water resources hike - pointless and annoying as a new large water pump time just costs 64,000 cash and a reservoir extends only a few months.
- The time in the game passes too slowly: while in SC4 went with the fastest playing speed in real-time minutes months and years pass in SimCity just minutes.
After all: the money the city is billed by the hour - all this means for the player, of course, that he has the longer sit in front of the PC and wait until a certain time has passed, because education etc still needs months to its full To achieve effectiveness. To me, that just screams for then, as if to hide the lack of depth and slow down the speed with which it comes in vorran Stadtbau and development, so that one does not notice as soon as space is limited, and thus how fast the air is out ,
- Specialization pointless? Maybe I am not yet risen behind, but as I understand it: you have coal under the city, so you build up a coal plant. Then the coal is iwann all, and you choose any of (for example) a casino. No problem. For me, the perfectly ordinary buildings - why specialization?
- Revaluation of buildings partly not useful or too space-intensive (good example is the garbage dump that is HUGE with enough population)
- Strong simplification: Residential building now interested the traffic around them no longer piece, even something like commuting time was easily removed. One must now cultivate only good 40% of the city with parks, which must be used together with roads to to get bigger houses. That was the whole difficulty.
- Part of the Sims is still unemployed and / or visited the school does not - no matter how many free places, jobs, whatever it is.
- Too few transport options: Only roads, bus stations 1, 1 (streets) station, 1 (train) station, 1 port and 1 airport - all of it will be built in the city, nothing less.
The main buildings are much too large - especially the train station is also quite expensive and brings nothing felt. It really works here is a city simulation.
- Online registration and forced at Origin, EA and Co.
Conclusion:
As you can see well outweigh the negative criticisms of the positive unfortunately not too tight.
The reasons for this are primarily the acute lack of space due to the small, standard city building sites. Added to this are additional factors such as place that you can no longer build underground or a lot of (big!) Park needed to get to at all residents to build houses with more capacity. For this reason is easy to understand why, unfortunately, the depth and therefore equal to the long-term fun have died quickly. A region that is not for me from 16 cities, but just 4 towns that have no connection to the rest is fully built within a real-time day and thus the air is out. Unfortunately, no one came up with the idea, then at least try with profound research opportunities meaningful changes and extensions to allow, as residential and commercial buildings with more capacity, reduce solar systems on roofs, the power consumption or something. The only research that exist in the game are used to make the Sims zBsp less susceptible to diseases, to allow power plants to work a little cleaner or slightly increase the profit of all industrial buildings in the region. Toll. Money is in this game anyway never the problem!
Always fascinating, that the successor of the old games can not even have a fraction of the possibilities of their predecessors.
Very sad and for me personally also a very, very big disappointment, in the few (former) good simulations it at all on the market.
For me, this is not to acquire EA Games more an occasion to look into the problem, and if so, then only after a long search.
No other company raises so consistently unfinished games to Hammer such exorbitant prices on the market and then simply fail to complete lines - and all without consequences for EA and mind without some form of apology or improve product quality. The stupid mass buys halt nevertheless continued the next, bought up and verhuntzte game for 59.99, and EA goes very well with it.
Previously no one had without flinching paid 120.00 DM for SimCity.
